Families Forward is taking place in Benton and Franklin counties.

Trainings and Credentials

from experts with proven connections to good jobs
In Benton and Franklin Counties, training is available at Columbia Basin College, T Enterprises, and Oxarc for these industries:


Length: 5 weeks per course. Take up to two courses offered for a total of 10 weeks in length.

Choose from a range of Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Advanced II Welding courses.


Length: 11 weeks, with the option of adding another 11-week training in Machine Technology II.

Learn basic manual machine operation as well as blueprint reading skills.

Length: 24 weeks (part time)

Prepare for front-line production work and gain certifications for a job in factories, warehouses, and distribution centers.

Length: 24 weeks (part time)

Learn how to perform the office-related duties of a medical secretary.

Truck Driving/CDL

Length: 11 weeks (full time), 22 weeks (part time)

Get your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and become a truck driver.

  • Owe current support with Washington State Division of Child Support
  • Are not receiving or applying to receive SSI or SSDI disability benefits
  • Are between ages 18 – 64
  • Can legally work in the US
  • Have individual income below $62,000
  • Meet training guidelines
